What vaccinations are required to schedule a grooming appointment?

For dogs, we require a one or 3-year Rabies vaccination (puppies between 8 weeks and 16 weeks are exempt). All vaccinations must occur at least 48 hours before your grooming appointment.

While not required, we strongly recommend your dog also has a one or 3-year DPP vaccination, which protects from Distemper, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza. We also recommend a Bordetella vaccination every 12 months, which protects against Canine Influenza.

For cats, we require a one or 3-year Rabies vaccination (kittens between 8 weeks and 16 weeks are exempt).

Yes. While we’d love to meet your puppies and kittens, Nature’s Pet does not offer grooming services for pets under 8 weeks old.

No. Nature’s Pet does not have any size restrictions. We welcome dogs and cats of all sizes.

Yes, please book a grooming appointment in advance to ensure we can accommodate your dog or cat.

Can I request a specific groomer?

Yes, you can absolutely request a specific groomer for your pet’s appointment. We understand that you and your pet might have a favorite! If your preferred groomer isn’t available, we’ll be happy to suggest another talented groomer who can meet your needs and provide excellent care for your pet.

During the process occasionally they will be placed in a comfortable kennel to relax.

Yes. We do offer grooming services for cats that include baths, spot shaving, and more. Please contact your preferred Nature’s Pet location to discuss your cat’s specific needs.

Yes, your pet will be in a room with other dogs or cats. However, please rest assured that all pets are kept safely separate in comfortable kennels for the safety and well-being of every animal.

Absolutely! We’re happy to help you with that. Just give us a call when you arrive, and we’ll gladly assist you with getting your pet out of your vehicle or taking them to it after their grooming session.

In some cases, yes. Pets with matted coats need extra care during grooming as mats can tighten over time and cause skin issues. Nature’s Pet will not extensively de-mat your dog or cat during a grooming service, as the process can cause stress or discomfort.

Mats often require shaving, which may increase the risk of injury. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and lead to skin infections. Once mats are removed, your pet may experience itchiness, skin redness, and hair regrowth issues. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and may show brief behavioral changes.

Additional costs apply for dematting and shaving and are based on time spent as well as the size of your pet if shaving is necessary. A waiver may be required before we begin your pet’s service so please check with our team regarding your pet’s needs, costs, and what to expect.

At Nature’s Pet, we believe prevention is best. Please talk to your groomer for at-home grooming tips in between appointments.

What are the costs for dog or cat grooming services at Nature’s Pet?

At Nature’s Pet, our full-service dog grooms start at $72, while baths begin at $35. The exact price for your pet’s grooming or bath service will depend on a few factors:

  • Size of your dog: Larger dogs typically require more time and product.
  • Coat type and condition: The length, thickness, and condition of your dog’s hair (e.g., matting) will influence the cost.
  • Intricacy of the haircut: More complex or breed-specific cuts may have a higher price.

For a quote, we recommend calling us directly. You can also book an appointment online, where you’ll enter your dog’s details to receive a starting price estimate. Once your pet is examined at the shop, we can confirm and give you an exact price.

At Nature’s Pet, we accept credit cards, checks or cash for grooming services.

Yes, it is customary and appreciated to tip your dog or cat groomer. Groomers often work hard to ensure your pet is well-cared for and looks their best.

20% of the total service cost for a good job.

More than 20% if you feel your groomer went above and beyond, especially if your pet is challenging to groom, or they provided extra services.

A flat amount (e.g., $5, $10, $20) is also acceptable, especially for smaller services or if you prefer a simpler approach.

At Nature’s Pet, we require at least 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel appointments.

No-shows and last-minute cancellations (under 24 hours before the appointment) will incur a fee of half of the groom’s price on the second occurrence and deposits will be required to book future appointments. Subsequent no-shows or last-minute cancellations will incur the full groom cost.

You’re not required to put a card on file to schedule a grooming appointment with Nature’s Pet. However, it can be helpful if you plan to have someone else pick up your pets, as it allows us to easily bill your grooming services.
